Research in the UK has shown that bullying and harassment in the workplace collectively costs businesses around £13.75 billion per year. 


Bullying and Harassment results in accidents, mistakes, increased sick leave, lost productivity and increased recruitment costs.  These behaviours can lead to feelings of anxiety, stress and fear and can seriously affect some people’s physical and mental health.

The Bullying and Harassment eLearning Module aims to equip new managers with the skills and knowledge they need to be able to deal with bullying and harassment. By the end of this module, the user will feel more able to: 

  • Understand and classify the difference between bullying and harassment
  • Identify the impact of bullying and harassment
  • Recognise a change in the team due to bullying and harassment
  • Develop a strategy for dealing with perpetrators
  • Begin dealing with complaints

The Bullying and Harassment eLearning Module module uses a scenario-based approach to put the user in a position where they must interpret data relating to multiple situations in the workplace where bullying and harassment can take place.  They must decide on the most appropriate way to navigate the situation.  It is designed to replicate the pressure that these situations deal with and puts the user in a situation where they must consider the cause and effects of their decisions to reinforce learning.
