Food containing allergens should always be handled with special care.
It is essential that workers handling food undergo training in food allergy and are aware of the risks of allergic reactions, knowing what alternatives to offer to customers and what procedures to follow to keep them safe.
There are fourteen particular food allergens that must be recognized by law. They are always indicated on food labels. Food handlers must know how to treat food containing allergens and how to avoid contamination – this happens when allergen unintentionally end up in food.
We developed the Allergen Awareness Training Course to provide any employee handling food with all the information about allergens, including how to read labels, how to avoid contamination and what are the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
The Allergen Awareness Training Course will enable anyone who works with food containing allergens to handle and serve it safely to customers. A certificate can be downloaded upon successful completion of the eLearning module.

This module covers food safety legislation related to allergens; including the Food Safety Act (1990; as amended), General Food Law Regulation (EC) 178/2002 & 852/2004, and Food Hygiene Regulations (2013).
