More than 3.5 million people in the UK are shift workers and it is estimated that poor shift design and poor fatigue management cost the economy between £115 and 240 million per year in terms of work accidents alone.

It is the legal duty of employers to manage risks from fatigue. Feeling of tiredness and difficulty to concentrate are just some signs of fatigue, which has a huge impact on individual productivity and employees’ well-being.

At Bolt, we have developed a Fatigue Management eLearning Module to help employers and employees understand their respective responsibilities around fatigue risk management. Users will be able to recognise the symptoms of fatigue, understand their own sleep cycle and the importance of managing fatigue.
