The food-to-go market as a whole has risen to be worth £25 billion in 2018, according to Kantar Worldpanel data. Having food to go in your store could significantly boost lunchtime trade and your profit margin.

Sandwiches are still the most popular lunch-to-go option, with 55% of responders voting for it, followed by hot food at 27%, according to The Grocer magazine. Enticing customers to come into your store with lunchtime trade can also get them to buy other items. However, anyone who works with food to go needs to be able to sell it effectively and in a safe and hygienic manner.
