Just a month after launching their innovative online training solution, in partnership with Bolt Learning, the Today’s Group is already expanding their training into multiple languages, to better suit the demand from their diverse membership and workforce.
Today’s Group is the UK’s largest wholesale services company with purchasing power of £5.7bn. The group operates across the retail, on-trade and foodservice sectors and has more than 143 wholesale members, 490 symbol group retailers and 2,401 retail club members in England, Scotland and Ireland.
According to the company, the success of the training initiative has been immediate. In less than a month, 200 people registered to the system, and members have asked for additional languages to be added to the training, following the demand of employees.
MD of the Today’s Group, Darren Goldney said “We have over 143 independent wholesale members in our network and they employ a hugely diverse group of talented people. Providing our new training in multiple languages is an obvious decision to ensure more of our extended team have access to training in their mother tongue. The training and development of all of our members’ staff is a key element of our journey to make Today’s Group members the first-choice business partner in the wholesale channel.”
Tom Fender, Director at Bolt comments “Today’s are really taking their training initiative to a new level by providing training in multiple languages. It shows their ongoing commitment to attracting talented individuals, improving skills and remaining compliant.”
“From a health and safety perspective when physically in the depots, understanding English is essential. But the essential, potentially life-saving training which employees receive is so much more effective if it is in an employee’s first language.”
The impressive new online training initiative, created by Bolt, will provide the Group’s 143 members with access to high impact online training modules covering a range of topics, from GDPR, health and safety to management skills.
Bolt has recently released their new rapid translation system – their training modules and digital compliance management system is now available in over 15 languages.
